Redesigns

The website you have.
The one you could have.

Four Irish small businesses, each with the kind of site I see every week, and the same business rebuilt: fast on a phone, clear about prices and hours, and built around the one thing customers come to do.

The businesses are fictional. The towns are real, and so are the problems: every “before” is made from things that turn up on real Irish small-business sites.

Hardware, farm & fuel · Abbeydorney, Co. Kerry

Stack & Daughters

Opens like the shop does, with the fascia and the footpath, then answers the question everyone rings with, "have you got…?", in the words someone at the counter would use.

Barbershop · Listowel, Co. Kerry

Feale Barbers

Opens with the one question every regular asks, "can I walk in now?", and answers it from the clock: yes and the usual wait, bookings only, or closed and when we open.

Bed & breakfast on the Greenway · Newport, Co. Mayo

Furnace Lough House

Shows each of the five rooms as its own window, with the price and whether it is free on the dates you pick, and sends the request straight to the owners instead of a booking site.

Heating & plumbing firm · Navan, Co. Meath

Fennor Heating & Plumbing

Opens with the question a cold house asks, "what's the boiler doing?", and answers it with what to try first, when to call and what the call-out costs.
